SCENE 1 – ARDENIA’S ROYAL GARDENS – DAWN

Soft morning mist weaves through perfectly manicured hedges. The royal gardens are quiet, save for the gentle hum of the wind. PRINCESS LEYORA (20s), regal yet restless, walks a familiar path, her gown barely brushing the dewy grass. She steps precisely into the footprints she left yesterday.

LEYORA (V.O.)

(wistful, thoughtful)
Only in the cool embrace of dawn do the gardens whisper their secrets. Each leaf, each stone, bound by duty to bloom, just as I am. A prisoner of expectation.
She exhales, looking up at the towering ivy-clad walls around her. The mist curls through the air, beckoning her to listen.

LEYORA (V.O.)

(softly, almost afraid to say it aloud)
One day, I will leave this place.
Her steps falter. Something breaks the hush—a faint whimper. She turns, scanning the garden.

SCENE 2 – ROSE BUSH – MOMENTS LATER

A small, wounded ALBINO FOX lays at the base of a thorny rose bush, its leg caught in an iron trap. It whimpers, struggling.

LEYORA

(gently, kneeling)
Poor thing…
She reaches out, her hands hovering over the creature. A beat. She glances over her shoulder—no one is watching.
Her hands begin to glow, a soft blue light spiraling around her fingertips. The magic pulses, spilling into the fox’s wound. Flesh mends, bones realign. The fox stills, then—
—With a flick of its tail, it bolts through a hole in the garden wall, vanishing into the wild beyond.

MARLON (O.S.)

(shocked, whispering)
P-Princess… is that… healing magic?

SCENE 3 – GARDEN PATH – CONTINUOUS

LEYORA freezes. MARLON, a young royal gardener, stands pale-faced a few feet away, his hand over his mouth.

LEYORA

(quickly, standing)
No. No, it’s not.

MARLON

(disbelieving)
But I saw—

LEYORA

(firm, stepping forward)
You saw nothing.
Marlon glances down—her veins shimmer faintly with residual magic, glowing neon blue beneath her skin. He takes a step back.

MARLON

(stammering, nervous)
I—I won’t tell anyone, Your Highness, I swear.
Sweat beads on his forehead. He’s lying. LEYORA’s pulse quickens—magic stirs beneath her skin, uncontrolled, unpredictable.

LEYORA

(panicked whisper)
Marlon, you mustn’t—
Magic surges. Her veins pulse bright white. Her hands tremble as the words escape before she can stop them—

LEYORA

(commanding, voice layered with power)
You will NOT say a word. Forget what you’ve seen. Forget it all.
A SHOCKWAVE ripples through the air. MARLON gasps, blinking rapidly, suddenly lost.

MARLON

(confused, dazed)
Who’s Marlon?
A long, painful silence. LEYORA exhales sharply, guilt tightening around her like a noose.

LEYORA

(softly, shaken)
…You’re Marlon.

SCENE 4 – THE CASTLE HALLS – MIDDAY

The grand halls of Ardenia bustle with servants preparing for the Crowning Ceremony. LEYORA drifts through the chaos, detached, the weight of the morning lingering in her steps.

LEYORA (V.O.)

(heavy, resigned)
It was a day like any other… yet nothing felt the same.
She hesitates outside the massive THRONE ROOM DOORS, hearing muffled voices inside.

KING AURELIUS (O.S.)

(booming, authoritative)
The Jelly will know. It chooses the rightful heir, not us. Ellis must be here.
LEYORA flinches at her father’s words. Behind her, a knowing whisper—

QUEEN LILIAN

(teasing, soft)
Sneaky little girl.
LEYORA turns to see her MOTHER, elegantly dressed in cobalt blue, waving a jeweled fan.

LEYORA

(grinning, playful)
Hello, Mother.

QUEEN LILIAN

(smirking, hushed)
So? What are they saying?

SCENE 5 – THE LIBRARY – LATER

A sanctuary of books, dimly lit. ELLIS (20s), Leyora’s bookish brother, sits at an ornate desk, engrossed in a tome. LEYORA approaches, arms crossed.

LEYORA

(mock serious)
Hiding in the library? An odd day to isolate, dearest brother.

ELLIS

(without looking up)
I won’t be chosen.

LEYORA

(smirking)
So certain?

ELLIS

(scoffs, finally meeting her gaze)
No one wants a king who prefers books to war.

LEYORA

(softly, earnest)
I do.
A beat. ELLIS looks away, uncomfortable with the weight of her words.

LEYORA

(gently, teasing)
And besides… you’re the only one who ever loans me books.

ELLIS

(rolling eyes, smiling)
Perhaps I am unfit to rule.
They share a quiet laugh. The moment lingers, then—

LEYORA

(softly, serious now)
They’re waiting for you.
ELLIS exhales, standing reluctantly. As he moves to leave, LEYORA catches his hand.

LEYORA

(whispering, heartfelt)
Good luck, Ellis. I love you.
ELLIS hesitates, his grip tightening slightly.

ELLIS

(quiet, distant)
… I hope it’s Laeke.
He releases her hand and disappears into the corridor. LEYORA watches him go, a foreboding weight settling in her chest.

SCENE 6 – LEYORA’S CHAMBERS – DUSK

LEYORA stands by the window, watching the kingdom stir with anticipation. Nobles arrive in shimmering gowns, banners flutter in the wind. The sky, a blend of gold and storm clouds, watches ominously.
Her gown, a soft pastel green, hangs untouched in the corner.

LEYORA (V.O.)

(detached, longing)
Perhaps no one would notice if I stayed here. Perhaps I could disappear forever.
A knock at the door. A servant peeks in.

SERVANT

(gently) Princess Leyora… it’s time.
A long pause. LEYORA turns, stepping toward the inevitable.

FADE TO BLACK.
